This project was developed from a design brief for Pooch, a nonprofit focused on rehoming dogs across Europe. The objective was to create a homepage hero illustration that immediately communicates compassion, trust, and human connection while reflecting the organization’s cross-border mission.
My approach focused on building a visually warm and approachable composition that could resonate across age groups without losing clarity or emotional impact. I explored how illustration, color, and character interaction could guide the viewer’s attention while reinforcing themes of care, adoption, and community.
I used Adobe Illustrator to vectorize the logo design, then sketched the person and dog artwork by hand before refining and finalizing the illustrations digitally within Illustrator. To explore layout, user flow, and presentation, I used Figma to develop homepage mockups and structure the overall web experience.
The final concept balances playful storytelling with structured branding, creating a hero image designed to feel both emotionally engaging and functional within a modern web experience. This practice project was an opportunity to explore art direction, nonprofit branding, illustration, and narrative-driven design within a real-world inspired scenario.
